A Brief history
In 1867 Germanischer Lloyd (GL) was founded as a maritime classification society, entering the oil & gas segment in 1976, whilst Noble Denton was founded in 1904 by Captain Pedder. Since this time both companies have expanded through a combination of organic growth and strategic mergers & acquisitions.
In April 2009 GL and Noble Denton merged to form a world-class technical assurance and consulting company that is trusted by oil & gas clients around the world to deliver smarter, greener, and safer solutions to their operational challenges. Whilst the name GL Noble Denton may be new, together we now have access to 240 years of combined experience.
