Our Jack-up and Geotechnical practice in London is seeking to expand its capability and capacity in geotechnical analysis and design, both via diversification of service offerings and strengthening our capability for foundation design.

GL Noble Denton's Jack-up and Geotechnical Practice in London is our global centre of excellence for geotechnical assessments of jack-up drilling rigs, pile driveability analyses, anchor holding capacity, slope stability for excavations, foundation quayside analysis and retaining walls and more recently site assessments for jack-up windfarm installation vessels. 

Within your role you will be responsible for carrying out geotechnical engineering, including FE analyses, geotechnical design and report writing work on behalf of our offshore Oil and Gas customers. You will also be responsible for providing technical consultancy to our customers and ensuring their projects are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality standards.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise

  • Degree qualified engineer seeking chartered status in geotechnical, structural or civil engineering
  • Demonstrable experience in offshore platform/foundation analysis and/or design
  • Proven track record in site investigation or laboratory testing would be advantageous
  • Role is mainly office based but role holder will need to be flexible to travel abroad and to offshore locations for periods of time
  • Working knowledge of Geotechnical software and/or FE analysis packages (such as ABAQUS or equivalent)
  • Have experience of delivering projects/tasks within schedule and on budget

The successful candidate will have proven expertise as a Geotechnical Engineer to augment the Geotechnical team within GL Noble Denton with an aptitude and interest to further develop his/her career into the expanding GL Noble Denton  geotechnical consulting business.
