You will lead, motivate, and build a strong team which will deliver sustained business growth around the Asset Optimisation core services of dynamic simulation, pipeline simulation, process troubleshooting and debottlenecking and RAM.

The role of Operations Manager is to ensure delivery of the Asset Optimisation business plan including revenue and profit in line with the Global and Country strategy.  Focusing on the development of  the Asia Pacific and Middle East markets and understanding of the customer needs to develop our products and services.

With overall responsibility for the practice revenue and managing 15 - 20 employees based in Malaysia, key role accountabilities will include:-

 

People:  Lead, motivate and develop Practice team members.  Direct resources and ensure effective management of budget, cost, delivery and quality.  Solve capacity constraints and ensure full utilisation of employees within Malaysia practice.  Responsible for working with stakeholders to fulfil resourcing requirements in the Malaysia practice.  Manage requests for knowledge/skills in Malaysia.  Support the GHOP in developing career paths, skills profiles and training programmes in Malaysia.


Delivery/Practice Offerings:  Develops and delivers the practice business plan for the Malaysia practice in line with the GHOP strategy.  Sets targets for the Malaysia practice with the GHOP and cascades to the Malaysia practice teams.  Deliver strong project and programme management to a portfolio of projects ensuring delivery to time, quality, cost and client satisfaction.


Customer Relationships:  Build strong customer relationships.  Establish GL Noble Denton as a reputable provider of solutions to customers in the Asia Pacific and Middle East markets.  Ensure the successful use of CRM database within the Malaysia practice to manager customer relationships.


Positioning:  Ensure Malaysia practice develop clear understanding of our customers current and emerging business needs and develop Malaysia practice product/service portfolio to support this in line with the global strategy.


Reporting:  Produce effective reporting to the GHOP and Advanced Engineering Consulting Manager on practice performance on a regular basis.


Strategy:  Develop Malaysia practice strategy including sales activities/cross-selling in conjunction with the Country Manager.  Attend relevant management meetings.


Processes:  Implement and maintain effective practice processes.  Processes should include but are not limited to Practice Development, Resource Planning, Customer Satisfaction, Involvement in Account Planning, Financial Budgeting and where relevant Contractual Frameworks.


Health & Safety:  Ensure safe working practices in line with company policies and procedures.

 

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience in a senior role preferably in a relevant market sector.
  • A first degree or equivalent in a related discipline.  Chartered status, 2nd degree would be advantageous
  • Effective project management experience.
  • Ability to manage budgets and revenues
  • Process Engineering experience and delivery of consultancy services required
  • Process Engineering operational experience would also be desirable.
  • Technical experience of working in at least two of these key backgrounds:
    Process Dynamic Simulation (using SPS/HYSIS)
    Feasibility Engineering Studies
    Debottlenecking Studies
    Single/Multiphase Pipeline studies (SPS/OLGA)
    Reliability, Availability & Maintainability studies
