Lead Engineer - Dynamic Simulation

You will act as the technical lead for all dynamic simulation projects delivered by the Malaysia Asset Optimisation practice and develop people, provide leadership and build a strong team for the delivery of Asset Optimisation projects.

Responsible for the team delivering dynamic simulation studies to the international Oil and Gas industries, the role will require delivering dynamic simulation studies at the conceptual, FEED, detailed design, commissioning, operations and life extension stages of oil and gas assets.  Key accountabilities will include:-

Leading, motivating and developing the Practice team members.  Direct resources and ensure effective management of budget, cost, delivery and quality.  Solve capacity constraints and ensure full utilisation of employees within Malaysia practice.  Responsible for working with stakeholders to fulfil resourcing requirements in the Malaysia practice.  Manage requests for knowledge/skills in Malaysia.  Support the Asset Optimisation Manager in developing career paths, skills profiles and training programmes in Malaysia.


Delivering dynamic simulation projects on Oil & Gas facilities to satisfaction of the customer and Asset Optimisation Manager.


Ensuring customer satisfaction on projects while delivering the planned profit for GL Noble Denton.


Operating within formal QA standards and project procedures.


Responsible for ensuring technical quality in the delivery of dynamic simulation project, and being the custodian for methodologies, associated software and processes.


Developing new business including initiating and closing out proposals.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise

  • Chemical/Process Engineering Degree
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards member status of IChemE with demonstrable knowledge of and experience in oil and gas industry
  • Process engineering background in oil and gas, ideally in a consultancy or design company.
  • Extensive experience of conducting dynamic simulation studies using HYSYS.
  • Advanced IT skills including proficient Excel skills.

  • Integrated/team Working - Collaborates effectively across internal departments and globally with GL Industrial Services to achieve swift and co-ordinated delivery of results.
  • First rate verbal and written communication skills, producing complex, concisely written and well presented reports and proposals as appropriate.
  • Highly organised - Ability to work in a high-pressured, deadline-driven environment whilst maintaining focus on quality and attention to detail.
