Principal Consultant - Process Troubleshooting & Debottlenecking

You will act as the technical lead for all process troubleshooting, debottlenecking and concept/feasibility projects delivered by the Malaysia Asset Optimisation practice.

The role of the Principal Consultant is to support the Asset Optimisation Manager to develop a grow the process troubleshooting and debottlenecking service in line with the Asset Optimisation business plan.  In this role the Principal Consultant will be expected to take the lead in business development working across the region to identify new opportunities.  Key accountabilities will include:-

Practice Business Plan: Working with Asset Optimisation Manager and key personnel to define practice offerings, and subsequently to lead and deliver large projects within practice, across the Asia region or within GL Noble Denton as appropriate. Deliver business targets.


Business Development: Identify, develop and close qualified opportunities with customers and accounts in conjunction with relevant Consultants and Managers, Account Managers, Sales Managers, other Heads of Practices and appropriate GL Noble Denton regional representatives.


Customer relationships: Build strong customer relationships and establish GL Noble Denton as a 'Trusted Advisor' in relation to those services we can offer which meet the accounts'/customers' needs. Establish GL Noble Denton as a fit for purpose provider of solutions to customers by understanding the key issues and problems facing customers.


Strategy: By developing a clear understanding of our customers' current and emerging business needs, ensure that our key capabilities / offerings and practice positioning are understood and valued by our customers, accounts and internal stakeholders (Consultants and Managers, Account Managers, Sales Managers, other Heads of Practices and appropriate GL Noble Denton regional representatives).


Resource/Project Management: Work closely and collaboratively with Consultants and Managers, Account Managers and Sales Managers to deliver the agreed targets for the Practice.  Provide technical leadership to the practice.  Lead, motivate, enthuse, mentor and develop technical team members.  Manage delivery in line with budgeted project profitability, where applicable.


Processes: Act as champion for relevant business growth (including investment) initiatives. Attend conferences that drive GL Noble Denton business and present papers as appropriate.


Reporting: Support the production of effective customer documents/reports for project delivery and internal reports as required by the Operations Manager.

 

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise

  • High level of technical experience of operating in the oil/gas or other relevant industry in a consultancy (or equivalent) role.
  • Broadly recognised as a technical expert in the area of process troubleshooting, debottlenecking and concept/feasibility studies.
  • Process Engineering operational experience.
  • Upstream experience beneficial.
  • Highly developed business development skills - demonstrated ability to bring customer negotiations to a productive closure.
  • Self motivated and strong record of achievement in both delivery and business development.
  • Strong team leadership and technical vision.

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise reports/documents
