Working on behalf of insurance underwriters, our MWS experts evaluate operational risks and assess the feasibility of working practices by technical review of literature and on-site inspections. GL Noble Denton issues marine warranty approvals for some of the world's largest field developments and our pioneering nature guarantees our involvement with innovative platform concepts such as tension leg platforms, spars and the world's first floating production facility. Marine warranty services are provided for complex operations associated with construction, the towage and installation of steel jackets, concrete structures, floating production facilities, pipelines and subsea equipment, along with warranty approvals for the decommissioning and removal of a wide range of offshore production facilities.
GL Noble Denton leads the way in site-specific approval of MODU's, including jack-ups, semi-submersibles and drill ships. Our involvement in establishing international standards for such approvals enables our personnel to address the most critical areas accurately to ensure that informed decisions are made under stringent constraints.
To help drive our strategy of continued growth we now seek a Principal/Senior MWS engineer based out of our London office.
Key accountabilities will include:-
- To be responsible for ensuring personal safety and that of direct report staff and subcontractors working for the company
- To collaborate with Mariners regarding operational and specialist marine matters
- Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the highest technical standards and current codes and standards, where necessary collaborating with the GL Noble Denton Technical Policy Board
- Ensuring that MWS Engineering activities are completed in accordance with client contract requirements including project administration, change control, progress reporting towards the client and invoicing
- Management of MWS Engineering projects, including: delegating certain projects/tasks, briefing project staff, risk management, ensuring applicable standards and laws are followed, liaising with clients, technical delivery and liaising with Technical Authorities, report writing, checking, authorisation, submission
- Preparation of bids for MWS Engineering ITT's in conjunction with the MWS Engineering Manager and the Heads of Engineering Assurance and Marine Consulting as appropriate
- Providing ongoing business development and bid support to achieve continuous growth
- Provide mentoring and development of others in team
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:
Technical / Professional Expertise
- Chartered Engineer, structural, civil, mechanical, Naval Architect
- Will possess up to date knowledge of Loadout, Installation and transportation methods, codes of practice, Rules and Guidelines
- Experience of providing mentoring/ development of more junior technical staff and contractors
- Demonstrable success in delivering large Marine Warranty and T&I projects to time cost and quality
- Practical experience in offshore construction (heavy lift, subsea or pipeline installation) and working knowledge of LOGIC 2003 contracts
- Proven track record in business development activity. Demonstrable evidence of identifying opportunities, scoping and costing proposals and closing client negotiations
