Our Software Solutions practice leads the way in developing and deploying leading edge IT software and services to our customers within the Oil, Gas and wider Energy industry throughout the globe.
To ensure that our customer's needs continue to be met, Software Solutions seeks an exceptional IT Consultant / Business Analyst to join our team and support our ongoing growth plans.
Reporting to one of our Principal Consultants, you will scope, design and implement Third Party Access, Hydrocarbon Accounting or Contract to Cash systems for LNG and Natural Gas facilities. You'll also support business development activities including client demonstrations, requirements capture and proposal preparation working with internal and external stakeholders. In addition you will be tasked with developing new practice offerings in line with business strategy, acting as a key interface with customers and providing technical / project leadership within the practice or in support of cross-practice / GL global consultancy.
You'll therefore be instrumental in establishing our approach to market and providing the essential linkage between client requirements and our solution offerings.
Key accountabilities will therefore include:
- Providing expert advice to clients, project teams (including non-UK based) and other parts of GL in the broad operational software technical area, either as a direct project resource, or as part of account management and sales activities
- To act as a key contact point for the UK region/GL relating to software business development and supporting project delivery through project management, authoring technical review and issue of reports. Presenting results, conclusions and recommendations from operational software consultancy work, as appropriate to our customers
- Work with the Software Solutions management team to secure operational software consultancy work for the team through business development activities with potential and existing clients
- Prepare and/or review proposals and scopes of work for potential software implementation and consultancy opportunities including preparation and/or reviewing cost estimates for consultancy projects
- Promote the capabilities of GL through attendance and presentation at industry events, conferences etc. as appropriate to the business
- Provide staff development, training and coaching to relevant GL staff through technical support and guidance during project development and delivery
- Contribute to overall business plan through providing insight into client business needs, future initiatives and opportunities
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:
Technical / Professional Expertise
- Business Analysis / IT Consultancy skills relevant to Third Party Access, Hydrocarbon Accounting or Contract to Cash systems for LNG and Natural Gas facilities
- High level of technical expertise operating in the oil/gas or other relevant industry in a consultancy (or equivalent) role
- Degree qualified in Engineering, IT or relevant Scientific discipline - Ideally Chartered Engineer Status
- Membership of an appropriate professional body is desirable
- Demonstrated business development skills - the capability to bring customer negotiations to a productive closure
- Demonstrable credibility with customers / accounts and internal stakeholders
- Flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas for periods of up to six weeks
- Full Driving License
