This is a unique opportunity to work alongside other Hazard and Risk experts providing a wide range of specialist safety engineering and risk management services to our customers within the global oil & gas industry.

Responsible for the delivery of reports for specific customers and leading on smaller projects, you'll also contribute to business development activity by identifying further opportunities to deploy GL Noble Denton's skills and capabilities.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Work on, and as required, lead projects to deliver solutions to customers within the timeframe, costs and quality standards agreed
  • Review and input into technical bid documentation and summarise key information in relation to scope
  • Prepare visit and technical reports to the highest standards required by the client
  • Participate in data gathering activities and HAZID/HAZOP studies, as appropriate, at client premises
  • Participate in assuring legislative compliance on behalf of clients (assessing hazards and risks, safety case development, demonstration that risks are ALARP)
  • Carry out HS&E, compliance and safety management system audits as per work requirements
  • Manage engineers and technical assistants, mentor and educate on high standards of work, technical knowledge, delivery of projects/activities and customer interface
  • Take personal responsibility for self development - in conjunction with line manager prepare a development plan which reflects agreed areas of required personal / technical development

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise

  • Demonstrable Safety and Risk management experience gained within Oil & Gas industry
  • Practical utilisation of methodologies/techniques which are applicable to the Safety & Risk (S&R) Practice offerings e.g. hazard identification techniques, QRA etc.
  • Adept in leading own projects and virtual teams to ensure successful delivery of work to time, cost and quality
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or relevant Scientific/numerate discipline.
  • Chartered status (or equivalent) or working towards is expected

  • Demonstrates strong technical and market knowledge to deliver effective solutions for customers
  • Delivery-focused, able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks to tight deadlines
  • Effective communicator with enhanced oral and written presentation skills, including the ability to write clear and concise technical reports
  • Organised and proactive; Takes personal ownership to ensure achievement of goals and targets
  • Flexibility and desire to travel within the UK and overseas for various periods of time
  • Able to flex own style to Influence and gain commitment of multiple stakeholders
