Senior Integrity Engineer

In the area of pipeline and plant integrity management, GL Noble Denton provides consultancy to Oil and Gas organisations around the world and is at the forefront of developments in advanced defect assessment methods.

Due to increased workload exciting opportunities now exist for a senior integrity engineer to join the team to lead and deliver projects and to help further grow the business.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Undertake delivery of specialist integrity projects on plant, pressure vessels and transmission pipelines using deterministic methods
  • Provide technical governance in specialist areas of integrity engineering, including coaching and mentoring of other team members as required
  • Develop new business opportunities with customers in line with practice objectives and targets, including closing out proposals
  • Produce high quality proposals, reports, presentations and other documentation for customers as required
  • Build and develop strong customer relationships, establishing GL Noble Denton as a "Trusted Advisor", developing understanding of customer's current/emerging needs to ensure our solutions meet client needs
  • Depending on experience and abilities, responsible for ensuring technical quality in the appropriate field(s), and being the custodian for methodologies, associated software and processes

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise

  • Possess relevant degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline. Chartered status (or working towards) expected
  • Practical experience of undertaking pipelines and pressure vessels projects within Oil & Gas industry

Proven ability in at least one of the following areas:

  • Fatigue/fracture mechanics assessment
  • Finite element analysis
  • Pipeline integrity assessments using in line inspection data
  • Conducting fitness for service assessments of pipework, pipelines and pressure vessels using internationally recognised standards such as API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, BS 7910 or R6/R5

Competency Requirements

  • Demonstrates strong technical and market knowledge to provide insightful consultancy and advice to customers
  • Enhanced Analysis and Assessment skills - ability to solve Integrity Engineering problems using engineering judgement, competencies and principles
  • Delivery-focused, Ability to work in a high-pressured, deadline-driven environment whilst maintaining focus on quality and attention to detail, Manages and prioritises own workload
  • Organised and proactive; Takes personal ownership to ensure achievement of goals and targets
  • First rate verbal and written communication skills, producing complex, concisely written and well presented reports and proposals
  • Willingness to travel and work at various GL/customer locations when required
